Instruments

The stage set has 27 instruments and loads in a second. The full set adds all 128 General MIDI instruments and eight drum kits; it downloads once (24 MB) and needs more memory, so it's off unless you turn it on.

Bar-by-bar step editing and the notation view live in the score editor; it shares the same loops.

Score (ABC)

Score editor →

Make this score a song sends your score to AfriBeats and gives you the finished track here, with no files to move around. The vocal line is your Voice instrument; the bass line is what you played on a Bass instrument (or, with the option above, an automatic line). Score PNG is the same score as a lossless M3DS image, for sending to a Graydient score-yue2 job by hand as a file (a photo gets recompressed and breaks it).

Saved grooves

Grooves are kept in this browser. Export a file to move one to another device.

Feel

Quantise what I record to
Free keeps the micro-timing of your taps for playback.

Feel is playback only. The score stays on the grid; swing and groove don't change the notation.

Paste your own ABC instead

A starter gives you the melody and chords, plus drums, a bassline, the tempo and a style line that fit. It replaces the loops and song (your instruments and saved grooves stay), so you can play over it, change anything, then tap Make song. All starters are original to AfriBeats. You can also paste your own single-voice ABC above.
